Synopsis/Details
Leaves are falling when Suzie, a 10-year old angel-in-pigtails, and her mother Gretchen meet their new neighbors Sam and Sammy (12). Suzie struggles with a rare disease that left her with only one kidney, but she wants to be a normal kid and go outside to play.
The film is packed with Christmas holiday traditions, including cookie baking, caroling, sledding, decorating the tree and house, sending Christmas cards, etc.
The first kidney transplant doesn't take and Suzie is trapped in the hospital until a replacement can be found.
Suzie meets a doctor who had five organs transplanted as teenager and became a doctor to help others like herself. (Based on a true story.)
There are worse things than being in the children's cancer ward on Christmas day.
