Synopsis/Details
ARGs or Alternate reality games have become very popular in recent years through the likes of Marble Hornets, Ben Drowned, and Petscop. An ARG requires an audience to interact with a creator to solve puzzles or find hidden messages in videos to move a story forward. Using this concept as a base, our film is about a group of A.R.G players who think they are playing a new game created by a friend they met online. As they continue to play the game, they realize that their friends are missing in real life. The three main characters, Ark, Jadusable, and Cicada, must solve puzzles and find clues given to them by the kidnapper before time runs out. The puzzles consist of looking for images on the internet and reading through documents provided to them by the kidnapper. The film concludes with the kidnapper escaping and Ark missing in a cliffhanger. The film is told entirely from the players' perspective in an online video chat, similar to Unfriended or Searching, so the actors will only interact through a screen.
