Synopsis/Details
Magical-Surrealist Drama. Absurd, mythological mystery, set in modern day. Dark comedy.
Prologue.
In a vivid blue blanket of bright stars, unusually bright for
a night in London, an arrangement of eleven stars twinkle
even brighter for a moment. They form the constellation of
Centaurus, in the shape of a centaur. DR. BENEVOLENT opens
the story with narration: “...perhaps the world has
momentarily turned upside down?”
NOOR sits by a gravestone, cries. The gravestone reads:
‘ASTER JAMES VITALIS. 1987 - 2024’. Noor whispers to the
gravestone: “How different life would be, if you were really
here...I’ll find you. In the flesh”. Noor traces the word
‘ASTER’ with her finger, kisses the gravestone, hums the tune
of the song ‘Unforgettable’ by Nat King Cole. Noor looks down
to her stomach, strokes the large, heavily pregnant bump. A
cat circles her, starts to meow. Noor responds to the
creature with familiarity, follows the cat toward a clearing
in the shadows...
