Synopsis/Details
The story is about an African-American high school senior named Gloria, the perfect daughter and student. She makes straight As, goes to work, comes straight home, has no time for fun, and never disobeys her mother. Things change while Gloria recovers from a near-fatal vehicle accident; she discovers she now has an amazing singing voice, which puts her at odds with her mother, Barbara.
Gloria believes she was given the gift for a reason and wants to put college on hold to see where her new talent may take her; Barbara disagrees. Barbara went down that path years ago and had an extremely unpleasant experience. Unbeknownst to Gloria, her actions will change Barbara's life forever.
