Synopsis/Details
SHARON PETERS, a physical therapist, finds a German Shepherd lost in the Washington wilderness. When it is discovered he is a trained guide dog, she uses him to help her newest patient, KENDRICK LOGAN, an ex-Army Ranger, blinded by a IED in Afghanistan. Kendrick is a bomb ready to explode, suffering from PTSD, depression, anger, and a lot of fear. With Trojan’s help, a new, more confident, Kendrick emerges.
What neither of them know is that Trojan came from a sabotaged plane, owned by billionaire JACOB LOWERY. Jacob survives the crash along with his CEO, MATT HARRIS. When they contact the FBI, it is revealed that his company had suffered a loss of several million dollars from embezzlement, and the evidence is hidden in Trojan’s collar. But the perpetrator, DAVID COTES, is one step ahead of them. He discovers where Trojan is, and then kills the only other person who knows.
Even with Trojan’s help, Kendrick is having a difficult time handling the panic attacks and nightmares. After he tries to end his life, Sharon takes him to visit a friend. RICK is also blind, yet he fixes carburetors, installs ceiling fans, built his front porch, and anything else he decides to do. Kendrick is fascinated. Rick explains that he refuses to allow his handicap to define who he is, or what he can do. After their visit, Sharon takes Kendrick and Trojan on a dry-land dog sled ride.
During the ride, Cotes shows up in a helicopter with a sniper at the side door. Sharon and Kendrick send the dogs and sled home and run into the woods. Cotes and his men set down and follow on foot. During the chase, Sharon slips and slides down the mountain straight into their pursuers. Kendrick knows it is up to him to save her life. Digging deep, he reminds himself; he is an Army Ranger. He is trained to do this, and his blindness will not define him. With this, he takes out the men one-by-one, and then Cotes.
As a reward, Jacob sends Kendrick to the best eye surgeon in the world who is able to restore his sight. With their troubles behind them, Sharon and Kendrick can now explore the growing feelings they have for one another.
