Synopsis/Details
This short film takes place in two worlds; the real world and his nightmare one. The homeless vet searches for a bed down location then drifts off to an uneasy sleep. He is confronted by a personification of his guilt and the four lives that were also impacted; a young soldier who died because of a IED, her father, her commander, and an aid doctor whose clinic was mistakenly bombed in response to the attack. It ends with him waking and his pain being met with disdain. This script requires only minimal wardrobe and props and can be shot in any location that has only minimal foot traffic. It can even be a stage play if you use carefully choreographed spotlights.

The Writer: Georgina Black

Been military most of my adult life but creative in the interstitial bits in between. I write in the voices of those whose lives might have been, cobbled together with the emotions they might have felt. While I only have one finished script to offer, I have told many stories on paper. This story has meaning to me as a former mortuary affairs journeyman in the Army and the frustration I felt when I couldn’t protect those that I helped ship home. These feelings dove me into intelligence so I could prevent, protect and inform. Go to bio
