Synopsis/Details
LORD MACROTUS has lurked in the North Yorkshire moors for centuries. As victims become harder to find, he is increasingly dependent on his vassal EDGAR to scrape second-hand blood from clinics. But now his Master MOLOSSUS has woken from his long slumber, and summons Macrotus home to Romania to help his plans for world domination- in return, he'll be ascended to Master Vampire, and the powers of mind control and freedom from ageing between feeds that come with it. But Macrotus's coffin is placed on a different train, and sent to Brighton instead of the ferry port. Worse still, infamous Vampire Hunter ANTHEA BYRON discovers his presence, and will not rest until he and all Vampires are dust. Barely escaping with his life, Macrotus is saved by DAVE, EVE, NICKIE and CORYN, whom he soon discovers are also Vampires. But these Vampires file down their fangs, socialise and dance in clubs with humans, and feed on coconut water instead of blood... they're vegans! Macrotus is disgusted to learn Vampires would stoop so low, but he needs their help to escape town and continue home. When their first plan to smuggle him fails due to Anthea taking Edgar hostage and killing their contact, Macrotus starts to bond with his fellow Vampires, realising the possibility for new life still exists for undead beings. But disaster strikes when a terrible revelation tears him and the vegans apart, and Anthea uses an unwitting Edgar to discover the location of their home. Macrotus is forced to choose between returning to his old bloodsucking existence, and saving the new community he has discovered, embracing change and learning to sparkle...
