Synopsis/Details
An American graduate student, Kent Oswell, leaves his studies and
his English mother in the USA and travels for the summer to England
to visit his father on a sabbatical adventure. His father, Joel,
teaches philosophy at Oxford University and frequently imparts
philosophic wisdom.
During the return trip from Heathrow airport, Joel takes Kent to
lunch at crop circle restaurant, where they discuss the crop glyphs
phenomena. Kent immediately debunks the topic, pointing out the
many scientific articles rejecting the crop circles as human art
and nothing more.
On their way back to Oxford, they stop at a crop circle research
center called the CASTLE Group. There Kent meets a local musician,
Lea, who volunteers at the center as a research assistant. In the
center’s museum, the father and son discuss the crop circles with
one of the lead researchers. Kent is invited to an overnight vigil
in one of the main crop circle fields nearby, where they hope to
witness the phenomena occurring directly.
During the vigil, Kent develops a relationship with Lea. Together
they actually witness a crop circle forming event. From that point
onward, Kent is determined to understand the occurrence. He applies
his knowledge of SymSys, Symbolic Systems, in attempt to make sense
of the crop symbols.
Working with Lea, a talented musician and composer, they discover
a musical composition within the symbols—a syncopating melody
reveals itself. Lea takes it from there and composes a song, Soto
Hethea, song to heal the earth.
The British government, military, and media all conspire to debunk
and misrepresent the occurrences in the farm fields.
Representatives from each of the groups meet in secret and form a
plan of disinformation.
During another night’s vigil, Kent and Lea actually meet the crop
circle makers, beings from a parallel dimension, who explain to
them that earth is in the initial stages of a planetary
transformation.
Both Lea and Kent are arrested by the military and interrogated by
MI-5 agents, but later released.
The pilot episode ends with Lea performing the crop symbol song on
stage at a local fair.
