Synopsis/Details
A group of college students take a trip to a cabin in Appalachia after their first semester. Danielle, our final girl, is a recently transitioned transgender woman who hasn't seen her high school friends since they graduated. She brings along two friends from college for support, a gay couple named Bobby and Hayden. They meet up with the rest of the group at a creepy gas station (complete with a local telling them not to stay there). This second group of friends is: Mark, the stuck up, close-minded asshole. Krysten, his sex-crazed girlfriend. Jake, the good looking stoner. Britt, a spoiled girl who just discovered politics. Bryan, her boyfriend who does whatever Britt asks him to. At the gas station, Jake meets Nicole, the typical well endowed bimbo you see in these sorts of movies. They party it up when they get to the cabin, but unfortunately for them snow starts falling as soon as they pass out for the night.  They wake up to find that a blizzard hit and they're out of power. Arguments ensue until there's a knock on the door, and they open up to find Chris, a teacher looking for his students along with Keith and David, twin brothers who are former sherpas. The group finds out that Bobby and Hayden never came home, and after an argument with the rest of the group, Bryan and Nicole head off to the lake to try to find Bobby and Hayden. Mark decides to take the two sherpas to get help. The rest of the group stays behind and starts partying. Our killer, Cyrus Fellows, shows up and starts killing.  Chris admits to Danielle why his students were up there in the first place: to find out whether or not Cyrus Fellows was still alive, since Mark had been teaching a class on Appalachian legends. Cyrus was a deformed kid whose family abused him, and the townsfolk ignored because he was different. Danielle and Cyrus have their final showdown, which ends after the townsfolk show up to burn down the cabin. Danielle, who feels a bit of a kinship with the shunned Cyrus, convinces him to go kill all the townsfolk and leave her alone. Cyrus lets her live, but Danielle swears to him that she'll come back and kill him eventually, setting up the inevitable sequel.
