Synopsis/Details
Taylor Hooper, an acclaimed young horror filmmaker, has been kidnapped. She awakens in a warehouse to the taunts of a masked assailant, who threatens her with a hammer and a hand saw. After scaring Taylor, her attacker reveals himself to be Robert, an actor interested in her project. She tricks Robert into releasing her by pretending to accept his 'audition'. Once she is free, she rebukes him. When Robert attacks in a rage, she knocks him out with a pipe and flees. Taylor hides out in a convenience store and is picked up by her friend and cinematographer, George. George drives Taylor home and makes sure she gets in safely. Taylor takes her medication and readies for bed, but she cannot sleep. The next day, Taylor goes to the set of her movie, where she is greeted by her production manager and best friend, Dani. Taylor checks in on the various departments before shooting the first setup. Several hours later, the film crew breaks for lunch. As they are eating, Jim and Terry, the film's producers, come to set. While Terry is optimistic and encouraging, Jim is lecherous and dismissive. After the producers depart, Taylor and Dani go into the alley by the building, where Taylor tells Dani about the kidnapping and the resulting paranoia. Dani and Taylor return to set to film that afternoon's setup. While waiting, Taylor is startled by Luke, her prop master who was bringing a prototype prop sword for her approval. Taylor approves of it, and the crew gathers for filming. Once wrapped, Taylor, Dani, and George head to Eddie's Tavern, a heavy metal bar and their preferred hangout. They vent their frustrations, especially about Jim, and talk. They are interrupted when Dani gets a call informing her that Luke is in the hospital. When they visit the hospital, they learn that Luke was badly cut and lost consciousness while working on props. Suspicious, Taylor demands that they return to set. They return to the studio and are sent away by the police. Taylor, now even more paranoid, directs the group back to the warehouse from her kidnapping. Once inside, they find it empty. Taylor spots movement in the shadows and attacks it in a panic, beating it with a plank. When George and Dani restrain Taylor, they discover that Taylor has attacked and killed a vagrant. Taylor shuts down, and the trio leaves the warehouse. They go to Taylor's house to figure out what to do. After a sleepless night, Taylor recovers enough to function. The group leaves for the hospital, where they talk to Luke. Luke, though badly injured, is lucid and talkative, but he doesn't offer much help. They wish him well and return to the studio. The group finds Terry waiting for them, who tells Taylor that Jim is expecting her. Taylor goes to Jim's office, who confronts her about the recent series of accidents and his trepidation. Jim assures Taylor that he will allow the production to continue if she 'demonstrates her loyalty'. Taylor sees his behavior for what it really is and refuses. Jim confronts her, growing violent. Taylor subdues Jim by hitting him with a film award and flees the office. Taylor runs to her car and is ambushed by an unknown assailant. Taylor wakes up back in the warehouse, restrained just as she was at the beginning. Robert reveals himself and his plan, pointing to a nearby camera and declaring his intent to kill Taylor on-camera. Taylor pleads for her life, but Robert ignores her, cutting her face with a saw instead. After tormenting Taylor for a while, Robert steps behind her, and in full view of the camera, cuts Taylor's throat.

The Writer: Chance Morgan

My name is Chance Morgan, and I am a storyteller. Even before I knew how to be one, it's been who I am. Every free moment in my childhood would be either spent consuming stories or exploring them in my imagination. I started writing my first novel in the eighth grade, and self-published in college. I wrote my first screenplay (a horror short) and my first musical (a one-act coming-of-age piece) in high school. Most importantly, I studied theatre in college, and kept writing. I even wrote and directed a stage adaptation of the video game Spec Ops: The Line , for no other reason than I think it's a great story that deserves to be shared. Everything I did informed my passion for telling… Go to bio
