Carter Rowe is a retired African American Denver Police Captain. He has started a very successful private investigative agency. Carter is married to Nikki who is Caucasian. Nikki is the office manager and the real brains behind the operation. They have three adult kids, all cops. Ronnie is the oldest. He has been a Denver Police Officer for 10 years and is currently a sergeant on the department. Rae is the only girl and Carter's baby. She has been a cop with Denver PD for 4 years and is trying to become a detective. The youngest is Jacob. Jacob has only been a cop for 2 years. Rae and Jacob still live at home and constantly bicker with each other. The pilot episode is about Rae being passed over for her promotion to Detective and joining Carter at the agency. There are three PI's that work for Carter, each with their own skill set. There is crow, a Native American, former felon who has numerous street contacts and can find anyone within a few phone calls. There's Ralph, a young and nerdy tech geek who can hack into any computer. Than there's Rachel, a former special forces soldier with expertise in weapons and hand to hand contact.
