Synopsis/Details
This is an adventure suspense story for the whole family. Spurred on by local folklore about mysterious cave dwellers, two kids go exploring a cave in the desert and discover a strange looking dead body. The deceased body is from a primitive tribe of mutes who were clandestinely studied as a possible missing link between humans and apes. Some of them escaped from the secret government research facility and began living in caves in the desert. Viewing the escapees as a threat to public safety, local authorities want to hunt them down. The two kids join in on the efforts to repatriate the cave dwellers back to their home in the remote mountains. One of the kids blusters her way past her fears, while her friend struggles more openly with his. By working together, they're able to lure the villains into a trap and overcome the legend of Danger Cave. The story is a variation on the Harry Potter kids suspense formula that allows kids to flirt with danger while still feeling safe. It's aimed primarily at 6-14 year olds but will have appeal for viewers of all ages, especially parents looking for non-violent entertainment options.

The Writer: Richard Buzzell

I'm the author of twenty feature scripts, one of which, "Robot Love," has been sold through Script Revolution. I'm an audience-oriented writer, which means that I emphasize the interests of the audience over the dictates of the screenwriting formulas. I'm attracted to drama but I have a strict "no fake drama" rule in my writing. I have a number of scripts that are especially well-suited to the streaming platforms. Audiences are looking for something special that’ll make them feel more alive, and that’s exactly the same thing I’m looking for when I’m writing. This is why I feel so in sync with the audience. We’re on the same mission. As all writers should be. Go to bio
