Synopsis/Details
The lead character, Jessica, engages a therapist to help her deal with her relationship-phobia. After revealing that she is a user of the “Payfer” sex-trade app, she becomes convinced that she has an addiction to it. Certain that this putative addiction is the cause of her problems, she lobbies her therapist to stage an intervention on her. Initially reluctant, he eventually relents and Jessica has an intervention with her friend Amber. It doesn’t go well. Undaunted, Jessica convinces her therapist to give it one more try, this time with her Payfer client Trevor. The outcome of that session is dramatic, although it’s unclear if Jessica gets what she wanted or not. This is a single-location script intended for a limited budget production.

The Writer: Richard Buzzell

I'm the author of twenty feature scripts, one of which, "Robot Love," has been sold through Script Revolution. I'm an audience-oriented writer, which means that I emphasize the interests of the audience over the dictates of the screenwriting formulas. I'm attracted to drama but I have a strict "no fake drama" rule in my writing. I have a number of scripts that are especially well-suited to the streaming platforms. Audiences are looking for something special that’ll make them feel more alive, and that’s exactly the same thing I’m looking for when I’m writing. This is why I feel so in sync with the audience. We’re on the same mission. As all writers should be. Go to bio
