Digital Footprint

Sandra Danderfield, a middle-aged business woman, comes to pay her mother, Katherine (60's), a visit. Katherine, suffering from serious injuries from a car crash, lives in a virtual reality home and makes her living doing online podcasts. Sandra exchanges a few text messages with her mom, but when she arrives her mom refuses to come out and see her. Sandra uses the emergency override and discovers that her mother has been dead for quite some time. The police arrive on scene and investigate, revealing that Katherine's podcast has been written and synthesized by an AI program, which is why no one has noticed her demise. On the way out of the building, one of the detectives is revealed to be an AI robot that doesn't know that he's a robot.
