Synopsis/Details
Draconian States is an Orwellian flavored tale of a surveillance state gone awry. In the wake of an unprecedented election, a Machiavellian political outsider takes the Whitehouse, implementing draconian practices which ultimately leads to the dissolution of Constitutional rights in America.
In the midst of escalating civil unrest, the newly elected malevolent President suspends the Constitution, and implements martial law. The emerging despotism flourishes in a technological age the Nazis could only have dreamt of. Surveillance drones patrol the sky, smartphones, tablets, computers, and OnStar provides the Regime with a window through which to monitor and oppress citizens.
Retired Navy Seal Jake Davis is unwittingly pulled into the resistance movement against the very government that he selflessly served and sacrificed for in Iraq and Afghanistan. He is now in the midst of a civil war against a government that will stop at nothing to impose its will to enslave the American people.
This story will appeal to a broad demographic: it resonates with the fear of the left, mirrors the unrest currently spilling over onto American streets, and it plays to the right's fear of growing government. This story is a bold and provocative suspense, wrapped up in a cautionary tale.
