Synopsis/Details
Danny, is special, he's a robot, the unique type assigned to those struggling alone with a terminal illness. He is created in the likeness of the whoever the patient would like to spend their final, dying days with. For Danny, that means he is the deceased husband of Sandra, caring for his wife as she struggles with late stage cancer, until , after her death he is 'retired' to be reprogrammed and re-used. For Sandra she has her husband back, and in her final days she rekindles her love for him, despite her knowledge that he is an automaton. As her love for him grows she quickly grasps that her death will mean Danny will die again, something she cannot come to terms with. So the pair hatch a plan for Danny to escape, and head to the Highlands in search of Haven, a mythical place where robots such as Danny can live free and avoid being 'retired' - at least that's the legend. The journey is perilous though as the company who created Danny don't want him want him to find Haven, they want him back, or dead, before he learns the secret of his existence and threatens everything they've worked for. Once in the Highlands Danny must battle an army of company Agents, and a fleet of Drones, hell bent on preventing his passage to Haven and his new life as more than a robot.
