"Fake"
Logline 1: An aspiring gangster in New Jersey tries to run a scheme within the pro-wrestling world, without being caught by the FBI.
"Fake" is a comedy thriller in the vein of “Goodfellas” meets "Ocean's 11". It follows Roy as he attempts to get rich through betting on the predetermined world of pro-wrestling. Problems occur after too many people get involved and the operation becomes sloppy. The FBI takes notice and arrests Roy, and now he must tell his story. This story is unlike any in its genre because it melds fun ride of a rags-to-riches-back-rags story (ala Wolf of Wall Street, Boiler Room, etc) mixed with the good fun of heist comedy films. Utilizing quick-witted dialogue, absurd comedic moments in the world of pro wrestling, in this deconstruction of gangster movies.
Audiences will respond to the themes of family and the lengths a father will go to take care of his family. But more importantly, they’ll love the ridiculous plan that three weirdo guidos from New Jersey have to make money betting on pro-wrestling.
