Synopsis/Details
This is a true story spanning the years 1926 to 1976.
Through the vivid memories of Russell Perkins, a disciple of the Holy Guru Kirpal Singh Ji, emerges the tale of an Indian Holy Guru and his extraordinary spiritual journey: Ajaib Singh Ji.
Saint Ajaib Singh Ji is born in Maina, a small village in Punjab near the border with Pakistan. Orphaned shortly after his birth, he is adopted and raised by relatives Lal Singh and Harnaam Kaur.
As a young man, Ajaib is restless in his quest to find the one who will save him after death. He embarks on a spiritual journey, visiting places of pilgrimage, renouncing worldly life, and practising various austerities.
Disillusioned and exhausted by his fruitless search, he is blessed with the opportunity to sit at the feet of Guru Baba Bishan Das, who becomes his guide. Baba Bishan Das prepares Ajaib for daily meditation, introducing him to the mantra of the first two Holy Words.
A few years later, Ajaib joins the military, an experience that instils in him a deep sense of duty and discipline.
In a town in Punjab, Ajaib is graced with the presence of the Holy Guru Sawan Singh Ji. Despite Ajaib’s devotion, Sawan Singh declares that he is not Ajaib's destined saviour but encourages him to remain patient, as the one who will guide him will appear in due course.
Ajaib dedicates himself daily to meditation and practising the two Holy Words. In time, the long-awaited moment arrives, and Kirpal Singh Ji, his destined saviour, reveals himself. The Holy Guru Kirpal initiates Ajaib into the Five Holy Words. Following his Master’s instructions, Ajaib relocates to Rajasthan, where he focuses intensely on self-reflection and inner growth.
The time of parting comes, and before leaving his body, Kirpal Singh transfers his inner power to the reluctant Ajaib, entrusting him with the sacred responsibility of carrying forward the teachings and practices of the Sant Mat tradition.
Devastated by his Master’s physical absence, Ajaib withdraws from the world, renouncing all attachments and dedicating himself to a period of deep meditation and self-perfection. Immersed in his spiritual practice, he spends day and night in solitude.
Years later, under the divine influence of Guru Kirpal, Ajaib embraces his mission. He devotes himself to spreading the teachings and practices of the Sant Mat doctrine, drawing tens of thousands of seekers to the path, including many from the West.
