From a Blacklist evaluation: “Hanna Foster and The Guardians of Eden” is a fun-filled, imaginative and moving fantasy adventure with a plucky and endearing new heroine and a refreshing amount of heart. The action is intense and thrilling, from the high speed train chase to the yeti fight. Perhaps what most stands out is how good-natured and pleasant the story is. Our first indication of the script’s soul is the Conductor, an extraordinary supporting character who encourages Hanna to leave behind her thieving ways. He does not turn her in, but rather prays for her and urges her to heed the lesson of the mountains, that she and they are part of the same miracle of God’s creation. It’s a touching message and one of most memorable scenes in the script. Trouble is an adorable creature who keeps upping the cute factor. The story subverts our expectations with the antagonists, and the alliance and friendship that emerges is stirring and makes the adventure all the more engaging."
