Synopsis/Details
Headlock Falls is a wrestling “docu-comedy” that follows the story of Solomon “Sol” Sanmartino, a disgraced former big name wrestler, who retired to his Iowa hometown of Red Rock Falls to start his own wrestling league. The series picks up a decade since Sol first started the league, in which time it has had moderate success becoming a local institution in the struggling town thanks to the help of his daughter and former wrestling buddy-turned-announcer. What’s different now, Sol is going through a litigious divorce and his soon-to-be ex-wife has her eye set on Sol’s biggest asset; the wrestling hall. In addition to the possibility of having his lifelong passion pulled out from under him, Sol will have to contend with; a steroid-using former wrestling nemesis constantly trying to steal talent for his own traveling stable of wrestlers; an over-enthusiastic, semi-maniacal, local fan who makes his dislike of one wrestler well known; and chasing off potential suitors for his young attractive daughter, all while dealing with the day to day shenanigans that come with the on and off stage personas of his motley band of locally sourced wrestlers.
