Synopsis/Details
In a Canadian town in 1982, a 2-year-old boy named Alan Davis is sucked into the sky by a mysterious light beam.
In the present day, he has become a grown man who works as an astrobiologist finding other forms of life in various exoplanets. In the day-to-day, he struggles to mingle with people and be accepted because his very rational way of looking at things isn’t well received by others. One day at night he has a strange dream where he sees ancient languages that connect to a passage from his early life. At the same time, he hears from an unknown source a six-note melody whose meaning he can’t understand.
In a flashback, 17-year-old Alan Davis doesn’t fit in with other teenagers in high school. One night, he reveals to his mother that he feels he doesn’t belong on earth.
In Brisbane, Australia, Professor Aida Jones teaches human evolution in a university classroom. Immediately after we go to a flashback to 1835 where naturalist Charles Darwin travels through South America studying different species and begins to understand the foundations of animal evolution. One night while he drinks with his crew at the beach, he hears the same six musical notes as Alan.
Alan does some research in a database to find a renowned archaeologist who can help him interpret these strange messages in ancient languages. Not only does he find Aida’s name and academic information, but he also finds online news from 1995 telling of her horrible paranormal experience with an alien as a child.
Alan travels to Brisbane and meets Aida. He confesses to her he had two paranormal experiences in the past, and describes to her in every detail everything that happened in the second one when he was fourteen. After that, he convinces her to join him and travel to some coordinates around the earth where he thinks he could find the answer to both of their paranormal experiences, hopefully connected to the messages and the six musical notes.
They travel to Athens, Greece to meet with historian Roger Asimov who will grant them access to the Acropolis once the enclosure has closed for tourists. Aida translates Alan's messages from aliens in ancient languages and they turn out to contain riddles that lead them to find a secret roll hidden beneath the floor of the Parthenon.
In a flashback to Athens in 357 B.C., Plato teaches Aristotle and other students about the three parts of the Soul, and why the Rational Soul is the most important one to righteously conduct the actions of men. Later that night, Plato is contacted by the same alien entity that will contact Darwin and Alan in the future, and shows him images of the future where he sees the violence of men, along with delivering an important but strange message that he senses isn’t something that men of his time are ready to interpret.
