Synopsis/Details
In the ethereal void of space, Earth glows under dawn’s light as a cosmic chessboard emerges, crafted from an oak stump base and sinew-and-bone. This is no ordinary game—Good and Evil sit across from each other, with their energies clashing in a battle of ideals. Good, radiant in white robes and shimmering wings, summons holy chess pieces with divine precision. Evil, a blood-splattered reaper cloaked in flames, counters with snarling, blood-dripping demonic pieces. Their eternal struggle unfolds as they debate humanity’s fate, with Evil mocking Good’s illusions and Good lamenting Evil’s relentless negativity. The game’s deeper truth emerges: the "King" remains untouchable, a passive observer, while pawns—symbolizing the vulnerable—bear the chaos. The narrative shifts to a gritty, real-world tale with Soul One: The Condom. Four-month-old Dante narrates his life, born to Dominique and Jamal, whose love story begins with a chance encounter at a gas station in the slums. Dominique, a stunning yet hardened young woman, meets Jamal, a flashy hustler. Their chemistry ignites, but tensions rise when Dominique reveals her pregnancy. Jamal denies responsibility, insisting on a condom, while Dominique stands firm against abortion, threatening to expose him. Forced into a reluctant partnership, their relationship frays amid arguments and distrust, with Dante caught in the crossfire. As months pass, the couple’s dysfunction deepens. Jamal attends court-ordered sessions to determine Dante’s custody, driven by a growing love for his son despite the strife. Dominique’s apartment descends into chaos, a pigsty where Dante crawls among hazards, once nearly grabbing a knife. Her neglect contrasts with her glamorous facade as she entertains other men, leaving Dante’s safety in jeopardy. Through Dante’s innocent voice, the story unveils the raw emotional toll of their choices, blending the cosmic allegory with a heartrending human drama.
