Synopsis/Details
A teaser describes the setting: Mankind has destroyed Earth and much of the Sol System, forcing them to travel to the Atania Galaxy. There, Humans enter a war between alien species, become a third major power, and gain abilities called Kanushins. In Act I, we are introduced to Nira Whanesley, a solar engineer. She has a near-death encounter outside of her station and, after awaking from medical treatment, finds the station is under attack by the vicious Kunar and the villainous General Ravig. They destroy Ivoli and kill Nira. Act II introduces us to the main cast: Diah Nollak, a rebellious Chyl noble, gets into an argument with her abusive mother and decides to leave her planet. Human Zaius Veer sneaks into ship docks on the planet-sized Tovarro station to steal a weapon. Also on Tovarro, Sky Pannah, an Uvari and Zaius’ adopted sister, prepares for her dance routine in the club Atometry. Finally, Human bounty hunters Kirrik Ishlan and Imi Li prepare to hunt their target. In Act III, Diah makes it to the city outskirts and debates her intentions. Zaius is caught by security and equips the weapon to fight his way out. Sky finishes her act and is summoned by crime boss Areshia Divaris. Kirrik and Imi defeat their target in a laser-fire-filled bar fight. Act IV sees Sky meet with Areshia, who is looking for Zaius. Sky refuses to give information, and Areshia is forced to leave. Diah is attacked and captured by the Kunar despite her best fighting efforts. Zaius meets with Areshia’s lieutenants outside of the docks and finds they are intent on killing him. Act V closes out the pilot as Diah escapes the Kunar ship, but causes it to crash into Tovarro. The resulting breach almost kills Zaius while he’s in mid-combat. Zaius rescues Diah from the wreckage and they decide to journey off the station together. The pilot ends as Areshia watches the duo on a security feed.
