Synopsis/Details
In this feature-length romantic comedy, Chase Regard is the captain of the nearly-historically-accurate pirate ship Cupid’s Revenge, a pirate-themed restaurant and dinner show, and the mountain of debt that came with both. But Chase has an ace up his sleeve: his ancestor left a heap of treasure somewhere on the coast near Ashville, Oregon. All Chase needs to find it is the help of Dr. Jenna Mackenzie, the director of the Ashville Museum.
Red-headed Jenna is a fiery—and only occasionally forgetful academic—who loves her quirky small town. Unfortunately for Chase, Ashville history has long characterized his ancestor as a murderous pirate and the townspeople like things the way they are. But for Jenna, the lure of treasure, historical discovery, and Chase Regard are hard to resist—particularly when he literally sweeps her off her feet during one of the dinner shows. As Chase and Jenna grow closer, they are forced to contend with impending layoffs at the museum, double-crosses (and sword fights) from Jenna’s almost-maybe-sort-of boyfriend, and a town that doesn’t want to re-write the history to make a pirate their hero. When accusations of theft derail everything, Chase must find a way to overcome the Ashville resistance before the fortune and Jenna are completely out of reach.
When Chase is able to prove the truth—that he didn’t steal from the museum—Jenna and Chase reunite and the pair set off on a treasure hunt. An on-coming storm almost scuttles their discovery and leaves them stranded in a sea cave, but some quick thinking brings them home, treasure in hand. With his debts settled, Chase also donates a large portion of his ancestors treasure to Ashville, saving the museum and ensuring his hero-status in Ashville and Jenna’s heart.
