Synopsis/Details
Sprung from prison by the FBI, twenty-something Shaun “Shark” Santoyo has been tasked with bringing down The Organization and its maniacal kingpin, Geier. Shark has risen from child drug dealer to enforcer, but now Shark just wants out—out of prison, out of The Organization, and most definitely out from under the FBI agents who are probably going to get him killed. But Shark’s path to freedom is fraught with double-crosses and complications. From Vivian Flood, the hot but sadistic FBI agent who is working for someone else, to a brewing gang war, and the rivals within his own gang, what Shark doesn’t need is Peregrine Hays. High School senior Peregrine “Peri” Hays is a knife-wielding criminal savant, her high school’s resident fixer, and is on a mission to hunt down the gang that trafficked and killed her best friend four years ago. Her goals are complicated by her alcoholic private investigator uncle, a boyfriend who’s the nephew of a local gang leader, and keeping her Mom happy by making the drill team. The last thing Peri needs is an older guy with secrets of his own. But as Shark works his way out of the criminal underworld, and Peri delves deeper into that same realm, they find they need each other in more ways than one. Both streetwise and hardened by dark pasts, Shark and Peri are the perfect match as they battle crooked federal agents, gangs, and sex traffickers in search of vindication and freedom. Together Shark and Peri think they’re unstoppable, but they are about to learn that their options may be staying together OR staying alive…
