New York City high schooler Mikie Russo only has eyes for Gloria DeLuca, the Mafia Don’s daughter, and wants her as his Prom date. But Mikie faces many obstacles. First, get her to agree. Second, pass his tough senior year Latin class or miss the Prom. Next, change parental dismay at his Prom date choice. Then, gain the Don’s confidence he is a worthy suitor for Gloria. Through hard work and perseverance Mikie succeeds - - that is until the young couple are caught up in the Don’s high-profile Emmy Awards jewelry robbery that leads to FBI raids and arrests

The Writer: Michael Volpe

Michael J Volpe is a former business journalist and high-ranking Federal government official in Washington DC. Most recently he won the NOVA International Film Festival, the DC after Dark Film Festival, the Hollywood Stage Script Film Competition and the Chicago Script Award for his dramedy MAFIA PROM DATE . He has also won numerous other film festival screenplay awards, by himself and co-writing with his son, Andrew Volpe, an award winning independent filmmaker. Their baseball screenplay drama, The Free Agent Fan , has been optioned.
