Synopsis/Details
Two weeks after his sister Sarah's death, 17-year-old Matt Lewis struggles to cope. He joins his girlfriend, Riley, and his friends Ben and Jess on a weekend camping trip to escape his pain. Around the campfire, Matt suggests they write letters about what they need to let go of and burn them as a form of release.
As night falls, strange and terrifying events begin: Jess disappears after hearing something outside her tent, and Ben vanishes after finding his letter mysteriously unburnt. Matt discovers a haunting letter addressed to him and burns it; his body goes limp and falls to the ground, as unusual smoke rises from the fire.
At dawn, Riley wakes alone to find the camp deserted. A final letter reads, "Now we can be together again." She looks over at a nearby tree and sees Matt standing there, ghostly and motionless, while holding his sister's hand.
