Synopsis/Details
With his life circling the drain, Mercury, a former star athlete gets a second chance to succeed when he comes to possess a miracle substance that heals his lame leg and restores his athletic gifts far beyond normal. But the miracle substance was already promised to TD, a ruthless murdering sports agent who played football with Merc in High School. And he desperately wants it for himself. Oblivious to the consequences of having the substance, Merc feels like a normal person again. It isn't long until he employs his new gifts to earn a living, thinking it will get his family back. After winning a few competitions, it works. His family returns. But Merc's obscurity begins to dissolve as he also gains notoriety. Bill, the chemist who created the substance, finally learns where his substance disappeared to and they ransack Merc's house to get it back. But they can't find it. At the same time, TD learns Merc has it from one of his athletes. It's only a matter of time before Merc's caught, so he decides to go into hiding. However, they both know where he's going when they realize he's restoring everything he lost. Finally, Merc is caught and Bill neutralizes the substance in his system, almost killing him. Alone and betrayed, Merc is put on a controlled injection schedule with little regard to his safety. He has to find a way out. Then the unexpected happens. Merc discovers that the muscle building effects are permanent. It won't be long until he can walk away. But then his wife is captured by TD. To stop him he's forced to fight to the death. After barely making it out alive, Merc confronts Bill and quits. Free, with a new lease on life, Merc finally gets a tryout with the NFL. And sends a sample of the drug to the commissioner.

The Writer: Vince Parenti

From New York, Vince swapped the cold winters for tennis in the Los Angeles. He studied filmmaking at The Los Angeles Film School after winning a few awards for Longest Yard Sale and Green Room out of grit and determination. Now that he thinks he knows what he's doing, he spends his time writing dark comedies, and grounded dark dramas. Only making the finalist round recently suggests his writing doesn't suck, but might not be for everyone. Vince, a future trend enthusiast, is always looking to forge new relationships, develop new projects, and to continue to write more scripts about the human condition [my bio, inspired by Remus].
