Synopsis/Details
17 year old class clown Jared Ashmore has no plans for life after high school. Especially since his parents are forcing him to move after graduation anyway. For now, all that matters to him is pulling off his biggest prank yet for muck up day.
Jared’s plan involves draining the school pool to turn it into a giant ball pit. Concealing the thousands of foam balls he needs above the assembly, their collective weight causes the ceiling to collapse.
A former graduate of Jared’s school, Gary “Blue” Blumenthal, is set to run for Prime Minister and is about to be inducted into the school’s hall of fame. With the scrutiny of the public eye strongly along the school, Principal Stone, himself about to retire, has no choice but to ban muck up day.
Jared becomes the least popular kid in school overnight, and his life becomes a living hell. Principal Stone has school captain Lance keep a close eye on Jared to keep him in line.
When Jared’s accidental destruction of the assembly hall receives media coverage, Blue publicly smears Jared’s name. Jared vows revenge.
Alongside his best friends, Max and Liza, and his girlfriend, Erica, Jared rallies the school behind him to pull off the biggest prank ever during Blue’s visit as revenge.
Jared’s resolve is tested when Erica breaks up with him due to his lack of direction in life and her own desire to pursue bigger things for herself.
Muck up day arrives, and Jared is sequestered in the principal’s office to ensure nothing can go wrong, but his prank is already underway. Max and Liza steal Blue’s car while he is distracted by the marijuana they pump through the school vents, beer raining from the sprinklers, porn showing on the library computers, and obnoxious techno music blasting over the school’s PA. They take the car to the school’s hall of fame where they fill it with rotting bananas.
Upon finding his car ruined, Blue loses his cool on an open mic. His downfall is sealed when it is revealed that Lance has enacted his own prank against Blue, exposing the politician’s secret of covering up a drunk driving incident when he was a teen. His reputation ruined in front of the entire country, Blue flees in disgrace.
Nonetheless, Jared is expelled for his prank and moves away with his parents, where he finds freedom and happiness in his new circumstances. Many years later, Jared becomes a teacher himself. Seeing his students planning their own muck up day prank, he secretly assists them.
