Synopsis/Details
Middle aged Canadian comic book artist Dale McCann arrives at Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla airport. He’s a guest of Belgrade Con, Serbia’s best (and only...) comic book and science fiction festival. Dale’s big comic hit, a character called Code: Magenta, was twenty years ago. He’s been coasting as a regular on the convention circuit ever since, cashing in on past glories. A bodged attempt to steal the business card of a TV producer from a rival comic book artist leads to Dale becoming a witness to a gang land murder. What ensues is a race against time as Dale is hunted down by a local crime boss. Can Dale stay alive long enough to be able to escape to safety and attempt a reconciliation with his estranged wife and daughter?

The Writer: Kevin Hopgood

By day I'm a freelance illustrator and comic book artist. My best known comics credit is the three year stint drawing the Iron Man comic book for Marvel Comics. During my time on the book I designed the War Machine and Hulkbuster characters that have since made appearances in several Marvel Studios movies. I've been working from scripts of one form or another all of my working life, and about a year ago I decided to have a go at writing myself. I found that I really enjoyed it, so I've kept on doing it! To date I've written three features and a number of shorts. Go to bio
