My Guardian Angel

PETE NELSON has always had difficulty separating work and family. He has finally decided to sell his business and surprise his family. On the day he is to make final arrangements with his lawyer he is fatally struck by lightning on the golf course just as he is about to sink his first ever hole in one. He wakes and meets his GUARDIAN ANGEL who must now reveal to Pete that he has died. Pete has difficulty with the concept of his death until the Angel convinces him that he has been Pete’s guardian his whole life. The Guardian Angel then reveals that Pete has things to take care of before he is able to move on. What are those things? The angel can’t tell him. Pete has to figure this out for himself, or forever be a ghost and fade from his love one’s memory. Pete soon discovers that his family has been ripped off by his lawyer, DAN GANEFF. He must also adjust to his grieving wife, DIANNE, his youngest daughter, MELANIE, who seems to sense his presence and his eldest rebellious daughter, ROBYN. Pete becomes the attentive father and husband that he realizes he was not while he was alive. He is able to “help” Melanie in her soccer game and tries to intervene in Robyn’s date with the boy who isn’t right for her. All the while the Angel struggles to show Pete the rules that guardian angels must “live” by. Most importantly Pete must find a way to communicate with his family. This comes in the form of a garage sale Ouija board. He is able to now “speak” to his daughters and sets a plan to recover the stolen funds. With every obstacle Pete and the Angel start to fade. The plan appears doomed when the board is smashed. The Guardian Angel now steps up to fix the board and they are once again in business. His family is able to recover their inheritance but Pete is still unable to move on. It is now that he realizes that what had been missing had little to do with the money at all. It was showing his love and care for his family. Once he comes to this realization and is able to show how much he loves them, Pete is now ready to forever be his family’s guardian angel.
