Neilhiem Pilot Synopsis.
Teaser:
A man in a trench coat follows Kiri, who is wandering through the streets at night. The hot blonde and intersex stumbles onto a dead end, and the dastardly man seizes this chance to go in for the kill. But they are interrupted by Ambrose, Kiri's husband, who happens to be looking at them. The trench coat man gets angry for ruining his moment and turns the blade on Ambrose instead. To his shock, it is a trap laid by the married serial killer duo to kill the trench coat man. After the man dies, Ambrose and Kiri head home to relieve their babysitter while mocking the moment, for they heard it dangerous at night. In the distance, an ominous building called Eco stands tall with a devilish figure staring out.
Act 1
The next day in one of the hospital's waiting rooms, on TV, is the news about a body found in the alleyway and that it is the work of the Meditian. Doctor Quenn, the head doctor and Ambrose's old mentor, watches the news in disgust and chats with Ambrose about it. They talk and see on the broadcast about the new mayor, Lori, the angry Commissioner Jameson, and last, Payback, Kiri's serial killer persona, who once again stole Ambrose's thunder. By the end of their conversation, Ambrose asks Doctor Quenn if he can have off early because he needs to get ready for the party later and head home to give a big surprise.
At the same time, Kiri works as a dominatrix therapist at the Dollhouse. They listen and analyze with one of their more annoying clients, Gin, about his problems with his ex and why he's still living with her. The time ends, and Kiri gets ready to leave, but not before seeing one of their co-workers. They tell her they are happy living in marital bliss and have a big shindig to go to.
While on the other side of the city, Gloria walks down the halls of ECO. She passes many rooms full of the despicable experiment as she arrives at her boss's office. She finds out that Helix is unhappy since a small pharmacy company wants nothing to do with ECO. Helix tells her to call it in so they can remedy the situation and help change the pharmacy's mind.
After that, Kiri arrives home to be greeted by their and Ambrose's mute son, Mica. The six-year-old is happy to see their mom and tries to hide the secret that Ambrose has a surprise for them. Kiri and Mica head up the stairs but not before passing by a range of photos that depict Ambrose and Kiri's life. They both end up in the master bedroom to find that Ambrose has bought Kiri a new dress and shoes. Kiri wants to "thank" their husband, but Ambrose says they should get ready. They chat about being good tonight, even when other people don't deserve it, and Ambrose gets sidetracked by a truck speeding off the street.
Act2
At the fundraiser, rich people enjoy food, drink, and chatting with one another while the children play. Then, Ambrose, Kiri, and Mica arrive, and they also want the party. But unfortunately, the serial killer duo finds out from their friend, Lori, Deja, the mayor's wife, Commissioner Jameson, and Doctor Quenn, that their host might be having financial trouble. And that this party is a last-minute effort to get some donors.
A strange truck has appeared, and the man inside says it is for delivery. The gatekeeper lets the strange man through and comments that he better hurry or else the boss with be angry. The man, Conroy, claims he knows all about angry bosses. So, when the mysterious truck backs up to the docks, the staff members find, to their surprise, that it is full of henchmen. As the staff is killed, Conroy listens to their screams while he locates their target.
Kiri decides to delight the partiers with tales of their work and show off their psychiatry skills. Next, they analyze The Meditian, Ambrose, and how he's an out towner and nowhere near as good as the famous city vigilante, Payback, also known as themself. Knowing this must anger their husband, they go in for their final analysis but get interrupted when Conroy and his men storm in.
Act 3
The party is under attack by Conroy and his men. The mercenary claims they've come for Doctor Connors, and they will be sorry if anyone gets in their way. They demonstrate their gun's power, and one goon gets hurt. Conroy asks/demands that a doctor come and help and has his eyes set on Kiri. This causes Ambrose to have no choice but to enlist his services. Kiri and the rest of the guests watch as Ambrose is led out while Conroy takes Dr. Connors away.
While that is happening, Helix and Gloria watch the news and see their plan is working. Gloria becomes worried when she sees the mayor and commissioners on the list. But Helix reassures her that everything will turn out okay if Conroy follows the plan. On TV are images of the party guest, Ambrose, and Kiri.
At the hospital, Ambrose gets to work on fixing the hurt goon. He hears the other armed men talk smack about his partner and child and grows angry. Ambrose listens to them talk about Conroy and finds out that to save everyone, and he needs to take this man down. But first, he starts with these men by throwing a scalpel at a socket and killing them in the dark.
The guest watched lights flicker in the event hall and grew in fear. Kiri knows this is Ambrose's doing and waits for their moment to strike.
In one of the offices, Conroy and Doctor Connor talk and discover that the other thinks they are here for different reasons. Conroy claims he wants the formula, and if the good doctor doesn't get it, he'll be the reason why the city will need a new mayor.
In the hall, Ambrose makes his way back to the entrance to the event hall. He sees the doors guarded by two goons, who received a call from a walkie-talkie about how they have to wait for Conroy and how he's busy playing with his food. Ambrose takes this chance to head for the stairs and towards Doctor Connor's office.
Doctor Connors sweats profusely in one of the offices as he tries to get the safe open. Conroy grows both annoyed and agitated waiting. The doctor finally makes it available, but a boom alerts them to something happening outside the door. Conroy goes to investigate.
He opens the door to the hallway to find his men dead and scattered all over the hall. He cocks his gun as he surveys the scene. Ambrose attacks and wounds Conroy in the hand. They battle it out as Ambrose unleashes some flash bombs.
Act 4
At the event hall, the chandelier shakes as everyone becomes frantic. Commissioner Jameson continues to protect the mayor, but he notices the armed men are distracted by the booms. So, he and the undercover cops take them down. Guests panic as one bumps into Deja, and she falls to the ground. Kiri saves her while trying to make it look like a suicide mission rather than planned. The mayor thanks Kiri, and the commissioner and his men are ready to go after Conroy.
While back in the upstairs hallway, Ambrose and Conroy fight but get interrupted when the commissioner calls Conroy out on the walkie-talkie. The mercenary investigates one of the rooms to see Doctor Connors scared and concludes that this was a successful mission. Ambrose watches Conroy leave and almost goes after him. However, he realizes he has more important things to attend to and heads in the opposite direction.
Commissioner Jameson and his men storm into one of the hospital rooms to see the goons dead and Ambrose on the floor. First, they rush over to help him, discovering he was knocked out. Then, they rush to get him medical attention as the cops survey the scene.
Act 5
Helix and Gloria watch the news and see that everyone from the party is safe. They reminisce that they've gotten away with their plan, and Doctor Connor has agreed to a partner. Gloria is excited to let their scientist know the good news, but Helix gets angry because she thinks that's all there is to it. He reminds her that they are here to take out the city because it is the central hub for trade worldwide. And that if anyone got in their way, they would meet an unfortunate end. While that is going on, Conroy is getting work done on his hand and plans to use it on that hero the next time he sees him.

As they talk about the night, Kiri helps bandage Ambrose, much to their displeasure. They are glad everything turns out well but would have instead killed Conroy. They hope to meet the man again and finish him off once and for all. They go to make out but are interrupted by Mica breaking things and must remedy the situation.
