TITLE SEQUENCE
A small desert town shows various people, mostly farmers and ranchers, watching Colt and their fellow cowboys ride into town and put the herd in their pen as the cowboys enjoy a job well done. They notice, over the horizon, a couple of black cars coming down the road. Some of them, and the other citizens, are curious about who it is until Sam, Colt's second in command, states that it's a new client.
In the car, Charles looks out the window at the small town. He notices a few town folks who are friendly or on guard by showing off their pistol. Charles starts to reconsider this idea, but again, Gabriel assures him. The newly appointed head takes out his mother's photo again for courage.
The big black SUV drives up to the house as Colt and his crew make their way over. The cowboy leader does not have a good feeling about this job, but everyone reassures him that this job is easy. But as Charles exits the van, Colt has a strange sense of déjà vu and can't remember where he's seen the young man's face. Charles takes in the cowboy while holding the photo and prays to his mother to give him strength. As the different groups come together to talk, someone enters the scene and asks if this is a new client. Everyone turns to see Jades, Colt's lover and Charles' long-lost mother.
ACT TWO
In the house, Colt and the crew discuss the situation and how no one checked or knew this was Jade's son. Things get more heated as everyone questions Colt about how Jade handles it.
Jade, who's in the greenhouse, is working on her garden and gets annoyed that Charles looms in the doorway. He tries to start a conversation with her about where Jade has been and why she didn't come home. Jade gets agitated and refuses to answer him. Charles leaves frustrated and angry, especially when he sees Colt on his way out. Colt shakes it off and converses with Jade about the job and Charles. She lets him decide but knows that Charles being here cannot be good.
While that is happening, Charles storms over to Gabriel by the cars and is irritated that Colt can easily talk with Jade while she blows him off—her own son. Gabriel tries to calm him down, but they are interrupted by Colt, who says he will do the job. This angers Charles, and he is about to reject the proposal when Gabriel, using his tablet, reminds him how much this will cost them if they don't. Thus, Charles says he will join them instead to ensure the mercenaries don't double-cross him. Colt thinks that is a bad idea, while Jade thinks Charles will slow them down. Charles shows off his gun skills, which shocks everything but annoys Jade since Charles the pottery she made as a target.
Later, at West headquarters, the crew packs up the gear and prepares the dune buggies as Colt talks with Jade about the situation. Jade finds it amusing and says she is tagging along to see how this will play out. The comment amuses Colt since he knows nothing he can say to change her mind.
West cruises through the barren land until they stop on the edge of some cliffs. Down below is a giant factory building, and they scope out the scene. They go over the plan as one of the technicians gives the run-down of the building. As they finish, Colt states that Charles and Jade should be on the lookout. Charles gets annoyed and is about to interject, but Jade says she is okay with that. Charles watches West head inside before he works up the courage to talk with Jade but notices she's gone.
While inside the factory, Colt and Sam run along the balcony before they stop to look down at the scene below them.
Down below, a Scientist, Doctor Spizer, discusses his new device with a client, Mister Keep, and how much revenue it will make.
Colt and Sam are getting ready to attack the balcony, but they stop when they notice Charles below. They groan over the fact that they must ensure their client lives or else they won't get paid and that it's Jade's son.
Charles makes his way toward the computers while staying hidden behind some boxes. He stops behind an enormous container, sees the scientist and client still talking, and is about to act when Colt stops him. They get into a heated argument that results in them getting captured.
ACT THREE
Charles and Colt are brought to Doctor Spizer, and Mister Keeps. They converse with Doctor Spizer and Mister Keep, and as it turns out, Keep is an old client of Colt's, and he's happy that the product Doctor Spizer is turning out to be genuine due to Charles' family company turning out premium products. A gunfight ensues as Colt's crew gains the upper hand. Charles gets into a little bit of a scuffle where Doctor Spizer might kill him, but Jade saves him and injures the Doctor. They get the plans and head back to West Haven.
TAG
Back at West Haven, everyone celebrated their victory.
Charles thanks Jade for saving him, but she brushes it off, saying it's bad for business if a client dies. Colt and Charles know she's lying due to her sly smile. Charles still wants to reconnect with his mom and hopes he can come by when he can talk more with her. Jade is about to reject the offer when someone hollers to them from the house, and it turns out to be Jade's nine-year-old son, Sky.
