Chef Carl is very meticulous with his cooking and its presentation. When a customer has less-than-rave comments, he doesn’t take it well. He gets word that the local paper’s food section is reviewing his restaurant. A positive review could really turn things around.
Meanwhile, a nerdy teen messes up a demon-summoning spell and conjures up a demon that wants to eat non-stop - starting with him.
The review comes in. It’s not good. Chef Carl wallows in his misery.
The Demon goes on a rampage, eating people left and right.
The police order the area evacuated, which includes the restaurant. Everybody leaves, except Chef Carl.
The Demon gets a whiff of the aromas coming from inside the restaurant and heads in. It eats everything on every plate. Chef Carl, still recovering from the bad review, comes out as the Demon proclaims how delicious the food was. This boosts Chef Carl’s spirits. The Demon sees Chef Carl and now plans to eat him, but Chef Carl stops him with an offer - he’ll prepare the Demon a meal, and if it’s not the best he’s ever had, then he can eat him. The Demon agrees.
Chef Carl then becomes a cooking machine, presenting course after course to the Demon, who gradually gets full and now doesn’t want to eat anymore, but Chef Carl is insistent. Their argument comes to blows, and ends when the Demon magically teleports away, inadvertently taking Chef Carl along to…
A hellish underworld ruled by its satanic Lord & Master, who proclaims Chef Carl will “die a thousand deaths”. But Chef Carl counters by offering to make him the best meal he’s ever had. If it’s not, the Lord & Master can do with him what he wants.
Chef Carl sets a domed plate before the Lord & Master. “Bon appetit,” and removes the dome. The Lord & Master gasps.
