Pigeons of Paradise

Ángela, the street smart Nuyorican pigeon and lead singer of the Super Coo jazz band has big dreams. When Phil, the fabulous headlining albino peacock, announces his retirement, a battle of the bands is set to pick a new top act. Ángela and the Band lose out to the flashy new act of Mandi More, a mandarin duck. Reeling from the loss, Ángela targets Larry, a dancing bird of paradise, caged in the Bronx Zoo, in the hopes that his sweet dance moves will be just the thing to give her and the band an edge. When Ángela and her gang of misfit criminal animals jailbreak Dancing Larry, they accidentally free the surly king vulture, Colonel Miguel Reyes, setting into motion a wild, high flying, fast paced adventure! Ángela, Larry, and the Super Coo Band flee in an attempt to reach her native home of Puerto Rico. Hilarious, silly adventure abounds as the merry band careens south — stopping along the way for a big Italian dinner in Atlantic City with mafioso types, a barnstorming square dance with swallows high in the rafters in rural Virginia… even Dancing Larry gets his groove on at the Backwater Club in Savannah. But Colonel Reyes and his Mob of Crows doggedly pursue our unlikely band of friends. Getting lost in the swamps of the Florida Everglades, things turn from bad to worse. Colonel Reyes bird-naps Dancing Larry making him sing and dance for his dinner at the Bird Cage in Miami. Not one to give up, Ángela and the Super Coo band regroup and hatch a ludicrous plan, posing as an out of town act at the Bird Cage. Drawing massive crowds, they fill the club with confetti, balloons, lights and more. Together, they outwit the bird-brained Colonel’s henchman freeing Larry from the Colonel’s grip. With a massive hurricane brewing, Ángela and the Super Coo Band steel themselves for one final showdown with the Colonel and his Mob as they fly into the wind over rough seas.  In an aerial battle, Ángela defeats Col. Reyes and washes up on the shores of Puerto Rico, alive, but without Larry. When she knocks on her abuela's door, Ángela finds Dancing Larry in the warm care of her abuela, alive, well fed and ready to settle down and raise their own Pigeons of Paradise.
