Synopsis/Details
Little Red is a problem for her father. She’s not a desirable marriage prospect, and despite myriad attempts to send her away, she keeps coming back. At last, Red’s father devises a plot to send her off to her likely demise: a wild goose chase -- er, *quest* -- in which she’ll attempt to bring her grandmother home for a visit. Her grandmother, he reveals, is a powerful fairy whose magic is needed by the kingdom. His instructions are few but clear: stay off the wooded path, and follow the will o’ the wisps to Grandmother’s house. Red does as she’s told but it’s not long before the will o’ the wisps lead her off of the wooded path. Now lost in the Perpetual Forest, Red encounters a devilishly handsome fellow who charms his way into her pants. He’s gone the next morning but the encounter has left Red with a renewed vigor and sense of purpose. She continues on down the road and reaches a castle, where she meets Sleeping Beauty. Since moving back home to the castle, Sleeping Beauty has been feeling the call of the countryside. She’s not pleased at the prospect of being married off, but has resigned herself to her fate until Little Red inadvertently stops the princess from pricking her finger on a spindle. With her curse neatly averted, Sleeping Beauty decides to join Red on the open road. The two women set off together for a future certain to contain adventure as two roads diverge in the wood.
