Synopsis/Details
Jean is in debt. Even with two crappy minimum wage jobs she can’t make the rent for her half-studio apartment - a typical millennial, sold one world but wound up in another.
Out of options she takes up a stranger’s offer to join a long term blind pharmaceutical drug trial. While she has hesitations going in, that attitude quickly shifts as she steps into the sleek facility. Inside are amenities she could have only dreamed of; a room to call her own, an olympic sized pool, a movie theater, an indoor garden, and the most incredible food.
More importantly, there are also kind and interesting people. Because she grew up an orphan this becomes Jean’s first taste of what she’s wanted most for her entire life - a family. What may have started as a money-making survival venture now gives her friendships, belonging, and for the first time in her life some optimism about the future…
But as the days turn into weeks dreams begin to twist into nightmares. Walking hallucinations, fits of rage, and dark thoughts begin to cloud the minds of her newfound family. Things may not be what seemed to be.
What follows is a dark mystery that turns to the horrific as Jean goes from thriving in this environment, to just simply trying to survive it. This is REMAINS.
