Synopsis/Details
Butter Bot believes there is more to life than just passing butter. Jerry agrees and the two explore a wide range of potential life purposes. Rick, Morty, and Summer board a starship to explore space with a crew of Mr. Meeseeks and Morty as captain. The Mortyprise runs into Beta 7, the male hive mind in love with Unity. Rick wants to shoot him dead on sight but Captain Morty intervenes and asks Beta 7 to come aboard to share knowledge and culture. Beta 7 invades the Mortyprise. Assimilating Meeseeks as they take over. Rick offers to save the situation, but Morty must first make Rick captain. Implicitly admitting that Rick is the one, true leader. Meanwhile, Jerry and Butter Bot start a podcast where Butter Bot has an epiphany: he loves passing butter. It was his purpose the whole time and he loves it. Morty admits Rick is the true captain and with Rick in charge, he blows up the Beta 7 ship and self destructs his own. Safe on Earth, Rick makes sure that Morty learned his lesson that Rick is the star of this show.
