Ghosts haunt the Sandfly community and a 200-year-old prophecy leads to a botched ritual that leaves Mariah possessed with the vengeful spirit of her ancestor. She is sent to an insane asylum and is trapped physically and mentally. When Mariah becomes pregnant, her daughter, Eshe, is taken from her to be raised by her grand-mother. Now a teen, Eshe is driven to free her mother from the hospital and fulfill the centuries old prophecy. Sandfly Trap is a contemporary, supernatural drama. This limited series spans eight one-hour episodes. It introduces a selection of rich and diverse characters interwoven into the world of the Gullah/Geechee community. Sandfly Trap is unique and essential to increase the collection of narratives centered around the ADOS (American Descendants of Slavery) experience.
