Synopsis/Details
This is Act One of my current work in progress. It represents about 15 to 20 minutes of a 1-hour television pilot.
Nicholas Faulkner chances to encounter a peculiar young man who claims to be his ex-girlfriend's long lost brother. The young man seems to possess superhuman talents, and he claims to have an important message for his sister.
But Nick has his own problems. He left Megan for a reason, and he's not so sure it was a good one. Now he has no choice but to confront his own failures in the shadow of a much greater emergency, and if Megan's brother is to be believed, there's not much time to figure out the right thing to do.
It's possible that Isaac Freeman has promised his soul to the Devil, and over the course of several episodes the nature of that Devil will be revealed. Power comes easily to the people who ask for it, but sooner or later there's a price to pay.
This series belongs firmly in the horror genre, with lots of gore, psychological horrors, and an invisible enemy who may or may not be real, but whose ability to harm people is undeniable. Isaac has stumbled upon the "Others", a discarnate manifestation of all the awful things human beings suppress in themselves - an enemy as old as human nature itself. Are they real? And does it matter?
