Following the tragic loss of his wife to cancer six months earlier, small-town preacher Sam Preston finds himself adrift in despair. His once steadfast dedication to God and his congregation now plays second fiddle to Jack Daniels. One fateful rainy night, after indulging in yet another bout of heavy drinking, Sam awakens behind the wheel of his wrecked pickup truck to a horrifying realization: he has inadvertently taken the life of a woman.
