Synopsis/Details
Henry and Dorothy have been married almost forty years. She is a vegan yoga enthusiast who talks to plants, and he is a meat-grilling heavy machinery mechanic. Despite their differences, they live in harmony until Henry experiences a traumatic, seizure-like event that leaves him with total insomnia.
Henry tries night after night to fall asleep, but none of the home remedies work, and he begins having vivid and disturbing hallucinations. When he resorts to trying a powerful sedative, he sees the pill scurry under his skin, down his neck, and into his arm. The hallucination is so real to him that he grabs a knife and digs it out of his arm.
After a failed visit with a psychiatrist, Dorothy now has a difficult choice: keep trying to help Henry with home remedies and holistic treatments or have him committed to a psychiatric hospital against his will.
Dorothy is about to make one last ditch effort when she suffers a debilitating stroke. Now, confined to a wheelchair with half her body paralyzed, she has to rely on Henry for everything. But Henry has not slept in six days, and his hallucinations are taking over his life. Every night he sees images of an enigmatic object and feels compelled to build a physical replica of it in a desperate search for an answer, some explanation of what is happening to him.
Then, a breakthrough… Henry discovers that his hallucinations are not just random images and sounds. They’re messages, instructions. The Earth, itself, is speaking to him through his own subconscious. Now Henry has to solve the mystery of what the Earth is trying to tell him before Dorothy reaches the tipping point and has him committed.
