Synopsis/Details
Dick is insensitive to everything, emotions, feelings, even danger. Amelia, his date, who herself has anger management issues, tells him she is appalled by his insensitivity. Dick goes out to buy some tomatoes at a local vegetable market, when there is a gun battle between bank robbers and the cops. Dick is oblivious to danger and is only a few feet from where a bank robber is shot dead by the cops. A cop goes over to him and asks him why he did not respond to the obvious danger. Dick says he did not notice the danger as he is insensitive. The cop suggests the intelligence agencies might be interested in Dick's ability to ignore danger. Dick is recruited for specialist missions, where he is to go into zones where there are gun battles. Instead of trying to dodge the bullets, he simply ignores them and never gets hit by one because he is immune to fear. The theory is, he would only be in danger if he felt danger, which he does not. But Dick bumps into Amelia again and this time she has had anger management therapy. She apologizes that she called him insensitive. They fall in love, but this makes Dick more aware of other things, such as emotions, feelings, and possibly, danger. He is becoming sensitive, and this might make him vulnerable. Dick returns to active service with the CIA as an agent in the field, ignoring bullets, but being in love distracts him and he is shot dead on a mission. Later, Amelia watches as Dick is buried.

The Writer: Peter Gartner

I wrote a few screenplays a while back, but now I have a place to submit them. At the moment I am painting in watermixable oils and have a gallery at FineArtAmerica. I am concentrating on art now, but if there is some interest in my screenplays, I could submit more. I start with "The Lightship". I have now posted some more. I want to create original scenarios with surprises for the audience. I do not want my scripts to be predictable. The unusual is always best. A script should be a journey. You don't know the destination, but you will enjoy the journey getting there. I like to explore the psychology of my characters, to give the story more depth. Also, there is now a link to my paintings… Go to bio
