Synopsis/Details:

“The Last Shogun’s Treasure” is written along the line of films such as “National Treasure”, and “Indiana Jones”. The story is about Jonathan, Robert, Jeff, and Josh, four normal Americans living in Japan working normal jobs but, on the weekend, do a metal detecting channel on Youtube called Japan Treasure Hunters. Robert finds a sword, it is one of the clues to the lost treasure of Tokugawa, the last Shogun of Japan. After finding the sword, Jonathan posts the video on Youtube, Robert is approached by Reiko a woman with a shady past, and convinces him to leave the team and help her find the treasure. Robert knows he cannot do it alone but has no choice since they have kidnapped his love. With the help of Kiyo a descendent of the original guardian of the treasure, and the three other members of Japan Treasure Hunters it becomes a frantic race to save Robert, his love, and the treasure before it falls into the Mafia’s hands.

I believe, there has not been a story done like this in Japan and will appeal to a very wide audience, in Japan, America, and the treasure hunting community. This script is based off of true events, we found a samurai sword and the Tokugawa Treasure is rumored to be true.

The Writer: Jonathan Lucas

I am a retired Navy Veteran living in Japan. I have been living in Japan for almost 20 years so their language and culture are almost second nature to me. Currently, I work on a base in Japan and do metal detecting on weekends. Last year we found a samurai sword on one of our trips and posted the video on YouTube. That got me thinking of an adventure story where our team searches for the rumored Tokugawa treasure. So I wrote my first script with the help of the Japan Treasure Hunters team and the rest will hopefully be history...ha pun get it? The screenplay is doing well at Film Festivals. So far so good. 1st Monthly Film Festival – 3rd Best Feature Winner 2020 Buddha International Film... Go to bio
