Synopsis/Details
Pilot script attached. Script parts two through six of this miniseries are in process. TAGLINE: What happens when the chain of command ends with a madman? GENRE: Action-adventure/war story which takes place during WWII, mainly on the Eastern Front 1942-44. SETTING: Russia, winter 1941-42 through summer, 1944. Other settings include Berlin and various locations in wartime Germany. The pilot is an adaptation of parts of Russ Schneider's WWII novel "Siege". Under attack by Soviet forces, Kordts and his sidekick Freitag find themselves separated from their unit and then from each other. In a desperate attempt to locate Freitag, Kordts falls in with an SS unit whose officer tries to force Kordts to join them. Kordts is holding the SS officer at pistol point when the unit is attacked by Soviets. Kordts manages to get away, and is discovered by Freitag who takes him to the GPU building where a final stand against the Soviet attackers ensues. Freitag is killed, leaving the wounded Kordts as sole survivor of their company. The pilot twists when Colonel Tresckow, who unknown to Kordts is plotting to kill Hitler, takes Kordts in as his personal driver. (End of pilot).
