Synopsis/Details
'The Only Ones' is a sensitive and often explosive drama, with a hint of comedy and crime.
We follow Lana as she strives for financial independence to adopt a baby, despite the opposition of her jealous, possessive, and ultimately treacherous husband, Clarence. Feeling she's slipping away through his hands, he teams up with her worst enemy, Charles Mars, a crooked businessman who lost his military supply contract and now plots to steal Lana's business, trying to reclaim his market position. On top of that, Lana contends with violent protesters and vitriolic public opinion. To overcome these challenges, she must first confront her deep-rooted abandonment trauma, which makes her terrified of leaving her husband but also drives her to act rashly and authoritarianly, pushing her partners and others away in a misguided attempt at self-defense.
