Synopsis/Details
PILOT SYNOPSIS
TEASER: Sean and Christy get interrupted mid-coitus by Janey, their 4-year-old, asking for a glass of water.
ACT ONE: The next morning, Sean and Christy bicker briefly about sexual intimacy; Christy wants more of it, Sean doesn't understand what Christy's not getting
At work, Christy's nurse friend and colleague Nisha confides her fear that her husband is cheating on her.
At Sean’s office at the university, a hot student comes on to him, before getting interrupted by Sean's boss, Curtis, who reminds him he needs to prepare for his tenure application interview.
ACT TWO:
That evening, when Christy tells Sean about Nisha’s husband’s possible cheating, the two end up in an argument over fidelity.
Later that night, Sean and Christy admit to each other that they missed out on sexual experiences with others because they’ve been together since high school. Christy asks Sean if he would be interested in them each having a “free pass” to have sex with someone else—given the other’s okay. Sean agrees, but only if they can use the passes together, as a couple.
Christy's sister Meg (and her girlfriend Jill) come to babysit Janey for Sean and Christy's regular date night (not a swinging date). Meg warns them that a friend’s relationship was ruined when they tried the “swinging lifestyle.”
Later, at the restaurant, Christy convinces Sean to cold-proposition a good-looking couple at the bar, and they reject the come-on, laughing.
In their bedroom, later that night, Christy initiates sex with a happily surprised Sean.
ACT THREE:
Sean and Christy agree to start looking online for a couple to hook up with.
At a playdate with Nisha and her possibly-cheating husband David, Christy agrees to help Nisha investigate
Sean and Christy meet Donny and Charlotte, a couple they found on the site, for drinks, and possibly more.
In Donny and Charlotte’s bedroom, Christy pairs with Donny and Sean with Charlotte, but while Christy's having a great time with Donny, Sean can’t get it up with Charlotte. It’s his worst nightmare.
