Synopsis/Details
Crypto currency frenzy continues to explode. At the epicenter of this world wide phenomenon is Finneus Carmichael. He’s been described as a maverick, a visionary, and a charlatan. His company called Eco Cash will use renewable energy to produce its product.
Wall Street waits excitedly for his IPO. On his way to trade his company on the New York stock exchange, Carmichael is abducted by 5 mercenaries employed by a mysterious figure known only as “The Piper.” Concurrently with the kidnapping, the electronic billboards in Times Square go blank. When they return to function, the world witnesses the emergence of a new internet game show called “Pay the Piper.” Corrupt CEOs are interrogated by a hooded figure with a scythe (the Piper) until they confess their crimes against humanity and re-pay the American public for their misdeeds. Finneus Carmichael is the first to go on trial.
Unbeknownst, operating within the walls of a Federal penitentiary in Pennsylvania; the Piper is actually 3 inmates who control the game.
R’mani Brooks is one of the three prisoners. He’s convicted for a crime he did not commit, yet he abides by a philosophy which guides every action of his life: “If you work hard and act with integrity, the system will reward you.” He adheres to this principle even when he was brutally bullied as a child.
His first day in prison he meets an elderly Jewish man named Asher Klein. He encourages R’mani to seek revenge on those who had wronged him. R’mani politely dismisses his advice and proceeds to serve his time. Asher launches a series of challenges designed to test R’mani’s resolve, culminating in his being sentenced to solitary confinement.
While in the hole, he interacts with a fellow inmate, Angel Montanez. He offers an alternate perspective which R’mani had not considered previously. Avenging the purveyors of greed can realign the scales of justice, ultimately empowering those who have been diminished by society.
The three inmates join forces and create “Pay the Piper.” Together they will target the titans of industry in America who have altered and distorted the rules of free enterprise, and used their ill-gotten gains to corrupt our society.
Pay the Piper viewership goes viral. Societal inequities decrease. The Piper becomes the national champion as he topples long standing institutions designed to keep us apart. Nefarious CEOs across the nation are in lockdown mode as they try to avoid being captured by the Piper.
Local, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies employ all the resources at their disposal as they try to identify and apprehend the person or persons behind the internet sensational known as “Pay the Piper.” Yet, they remain elusive
