Synopsis/Details
In the eerie Cornish woodlands of 1691, a comet streaks across the night sky as Henry, a burly farmer, leads a mod of angry villagers to a hidden cottage. Following the plaintive cries of children, they discover two drowned boys beneath an apple tree. Henry's courageous intervention saves a third boy from the clutches of a malevolent woman, condemned by the villagers as a witch and swiftly met with fiery justice. Yet, her connection to a hovering raven hints at dark forces at play. Fast forward to present day Cornwall, Ben, a passionate astronomy enthusiast, takes his young son Ewan and Alice, his late wife’s best friend, on a weekend trip to witness the imminent return of a comet last seen 333 years ago. Unbeknownst to them, their rented cottage was once home to the 17th-century accused witch. Despite the initial allure, they find the old property in a state of neglect, starkly contrasting the idyllic images they had seen online. Their unease grows when they meet Moon, an enigmatic elderly woman across the glen with an unsettling interest in Ewan. The atmosphere grows increasingly ominous with Ewan's sudden disappearance, sparking a frantic search. Alice eventually finds him in a muddy clearing nestled within a cornfield, where a dead tree stands sentinel beside a babbling brook, and a mysterious white-eyed raven silently watches. Their unease deepens when Frank, a local farmer, warns them of the dangers in the condemned clearing, particularly cautioning against the malevolent presence known as "White-eye." As the comet sighting approaches, tension rises: Moon appears at their cottage unexpectedly, Ewan has unsettling encounters with incorporeal entities of two young boys, and Ben discovers a dead raven fledgling under his bed, tangled in thistle leaves, guarded by Moon's feral black cat. On the fateful night of the comet's appearance, long-held secrets come to light, as Alice's true intentions are exposed amidst a horde of attacking ravens led by White-eye. In a heart-stopping showdown beneath the streaking comet, Ben and Ewan find themselves pitted against the malevolent designs of one they once trusted, their struggle for survival unfolding against the backdrop of a world teetering on the brink of darkness. Thanks to Moon’s intervention, father and son narrowly escape the clutches of evil, but the revelation of Ewan's chilling secret casts a dark shadow over their uncertain future. "The Raven Witch" is a suspenseful mystery horror set in the haunting Cornish countryside, where historical intrigue converges with supernatural suspense. Featuring richly drawn characters, an atmospheric backdrop, and escalating tension, audiences will remain spellbound until the startling finale reveals the unexpected truth.
