Synopsis/Details
Sara Butler moved away after the Aura Lee Benton case, pregnant with Jim’s child, but she wanted Jim to marry her for love, not out of obligation. They, he grew distant, she hid the pregnancy and moved to Florida, hoping that their love for each other would overcome the 3000 miles between them. His independence and obligation to his dad, kept him in LA, he was torn between going after her, and taking care of Rocky. Time passed, before he knew it she met someone, fell in love, got married, only to find out later that the son she had was actually his. He kept tabs on them over the years, always knowing what was going on in their lives. He watched from afar as Sara’s business thrived, and Jimmy Butler became a man that he was proud to call his son, even if it was under his breath.
Angel Martin as always, a thorn that stuck in Rockford’s side, even after all these years, he was still getting in trouble, and Jim, like always was there to help him get out of it. Until Angel made a deal that he could not possibly live up to. Angel fraudulently tries to sell a building that the bank is foreclosing on to a local mobster and his partner, and since Rockford drove him to the closing, he got caught up in the fraud. Angel goes into hiding, but they catch up with Jim one morning on the Pacific Coast Highway by Point Mugu Rock, causing Rockford to die in spectacular fashion in the Pacific Ocean.
LAPD contact his Emergency Contact, Sara Butler, and together with her unwilling son, they travel to LA to plan the funeral. They did not realize that they were going to be getting in the middle of the action as well. With the help of Angel and his son Tony, and a few others from Jim Rockford’s past, they solve not only his murder, but cripple a sex trafficking ring in the process. Sara and Jimmy Butler learn that not all is as it seems, they come to learn just how much they were part of his life.
